    Date Format Mismatch in Excel and Word file(Mail Merge)

    Hello,

    I have some data in EXCEL file.
    I want to use that data in Word file with Mail merge.
    In excel ,Sanction Date column Date is DD-MMM-YYYY format (i.e 03-Sep-2015).
    But when i take this data in word file with Mail merge date appears as 09-03-2015.
    I want data in Word File as-03-Sep-2015 or 03-09-2015.

    Please assist.

    Go to word, highlight the date field in your mail merge.

    Go to Insert Tab, then press "Date & Time" - then select your desired format.

    Alternatively you can press ALT + N + D, then set your date format and make it default.

    I tried it. It worked.

    It is not working....
    Date as per word format is 9/3/2015.
    After Highlighting it and pressing Date & time and selecting 23-Sep-19 ,date appears as 23-Sep-19.

    Oh yes.. the above answer I gave you just inserts date.

    You can se this format for your date field:
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Press Shift+F9 and edit the field like this. It should work now.

    Hi kdraghu,

    Put it on the field where you want the date for mail merge. See below:

    Then press Shift+F9 and type the following code:

    Hi Donskie,

    Attachments are not downloadable.

    But i tried the code{ MERGEFIELD Date_of_Sanction_\@"dd-MMM-yyy" } .Yes its working when i manually type.

    But when i copy & paste it it gives me message-Error! Unknown character in picture string.

    Anyway.Thank you for your assistance.
