Re: Working time calculation excluding Saturday and some conditions.

    Welcome to the forum.

Will you please attach a small sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one and nobody wants to have to recreate your data from scratch.

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired results are also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment (it hasn't worked for years, and despite our repeatedly asking the technical team who own the forum to fix it, they can't be bothered to do so), so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

Re: Working time calculation excluding Saturday and some conditions.

In your 1st post 9/15 was a holiday. In the upload 9/30 is a holiday.

Which set of holidays do you want us to use? I ask because this looks like it could get complicated. Knowing now could save chasing otherwise simple errors.

Also are you constrained to using the layout you have in your upload?

kazziimran please do not "back edit" your posts once there has been response. It interrupts the flow of conversation and confuses those who join in later. By the time stamps you've changed post #1 about 2 weeks after posting and in response to a question asked in the meantime.

Initially you listed the exact hours of day for each worker for each day of the week. Those are no longer there. Please re-post those in a new post. They will be important.

Edit Never mind: I found worker times on the last page of the attachment.

Re: Working time calculation excluding Saturday and some conditions.

Am stumped on how to rearrange layouts to solve with formulas.

Still working on it and in the meantime have called for reinforcements.

Re: Working time calculation excluding Saturday and some conditions.

Hmm, this type of calculation requires too many conditions/special handling to produce reliable result through formula as far as I can tell.

Ex: When start/end date falls on Sat/Sun, will require special handling. You'll also need to calculate how many Saturdays will occur between two dates etc.
EDIT: So it is much easier to handle all the exception/condition through iterative calculation for each date between start & end.

If OP is open to restructuring some conditions table, it can be done via PowerQuery (using custom function), VBA or perhaps via DAX calculation.

You should design a time sheet correctly.

Time in and time out for each day or at least enter the days and hours worked separately.

Re: Working time calculation excluding Saturday and some conditions.

This is my first post in this forum and looking for help not your Moderation. The data is showing replicate of my working data. If you asked to separate the date and time, it will impact huge in my working file. The file has at least 10000 cells for the datetime. So I am unable to do that.
Kindly suggest me how can I solve it? Or, If need I can delete the post and re-post with more explanation.
