Highlight (Fill) certain words in a cell

Is there a way to highlight(fill) a word or group of words in a cell without highlighting the whole cell? I know I can easily change the font color, but that is not what I am looking to do. It seems like this should be easy, but I am failing miserably at figuring it out.

You won't be able to do that with a formula, or conditional formatting - you would need some VBA to partially change the font colour in a cell (or do it manually). You won't be able to partially fill a cell, as the fill colour applies to the complete cell.
