Match, Find & Replace 2 Large Lists of Company Names that are Spelled Differently For Mac

A data aggregator compiles an annual list of ~5,000 companies and their ranking. I'm running some analysis on how the rankings change year to year.

Problem- Most of the company names from last year are not listed the same way for this year's list. For example, 2017 list for Wells Fargo is listed as "Wells Fargo Bank & Co", and the 2018 list is listed as "Wells Fargo Bank NA". I want to avoid manually finding, copying, and pasting the current list names to the old names so both columns match. If I can get the two columns to match then I can easily do some data analysis. Is there a combination of functions I can use to find, match, and change the names?

*Note - This is a business ranking list, so rankings change, meaning some names on the old list may not be on the new list, and names on the new list may not be on the old list. Not sure if this is relevant but I thought I'd mention it.

Google Microsoft Fuzzy Lookup. It's free and D/L able from the Microsoft website. It'll do exactly what you want. If that isn't an optionfor you, I do havean old UDF that will also do the job... but your file has to be .xlsm... which a lot of folk don't like.

It's really unfortunate, because it would perfectly solve my problem.

If anyone knows of a workaround I'd be very grateful.
