How to protect entire workbook so it can be opened but not edited in any way

Good day all. I am designing a workbook for my guitar club in Excel 2003 to be used as a For Sale/Wanted hub for members to trade equipment.

I want visitors to be able to open the workbook, but not make any changes to the content.

I know how to protect the sheets, but I cannot figure out how to save the workbook so that some creep couldn't add a worksheet

and possibly embed some malicious content in it. I've tried the options in the "Save As" then "General Options" window with no luck.

Any help much appreciated.

Save it as read-only
It will still be "modifyable" but not savable
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
