Hyperlink Based on a Value in a Column

Is it possible to have a hyperlink in a column for that value. Meaning, I have a column with different values. I would like to hyperlink that cell based on that value.
But I don't want to make another column with the hyperlink.

So, can you hyperlink the on the value itself? Not one at a time.

    Thanks...

Re: Hyperlink Based on a Value in a Column

Your request is very unclear - sorry.

Will you please attach a small sample Excel workbook?

    Instructions (Please Read Carefully):

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired results are also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment (it hasn't worked for years, and despite our repeatedly asking the technical team who own the forum to fix it, they can't be bothered to do so), so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

Re: Hyperlink Based on a Value in a Column

    Sorry...

I simple want to know if you can add hyperlinks based on the value of the cell.
But I want to have the value in that cell be the hyperlink and not have another column with the link.
Most of the examples show how to create a link to a cell but using another column as the link.

    Hope that makes sense...

No, sorry! Can you please provide a mock-up? I don't understand the distinction you are trying to make.

EDIT: If you want a column's contents to turn into hyperlinks, you'll need VBA. We really need a mock-up to clarify this.

Re: Hyperlink Based on a Value in a Column

Just a simple column with different values in column A. You can put whatever you want in there.
Most of the hyperlink scenarios use column B as the link back to the value in column A.

I want it do be in column A only.

Not sure how else I can describe it...
