Make excel sheet into RSS Feed

First off....thanks for any help you can give me. It is greatly appreciated!!!

I have data on an excel page that changes numerous times a day that I want to place on my website via an RSS Feed. How do I create an RSS feed from my excel spreadsheet to place on my website?

A few key points...
--I really only need a few cells of the spreadsheet to be a part of the feed. Not for sure if can just feed a few cells?
--My spreadsheet is stored on my desktop and not in the cloud. If I can, I would like to keep it that way.

You've been pretty vague so I'm hoping you just want an example on how to do it...

The forum won't allow me to post the code directly because of HTML / Security contraints so I've attached it as a text file for you.

This will create you an RSS file based on cell values, it's pretty basic but without more info there isn't a lot more to do...

It'll create the file in the same folder as you've got the Workbook.

To get files from my destop I create a DOS batch file with the FTP commands in and use this command;

Replacing the whatever part with the name of your batch file (and indeed the path if not the same as the workbook).

Sorry about being vague. I didn't quite know what info to give that would be useful. I am a novice at this stuff. Maybe I am in over my head.

My excel page titled "Stock Calc", monitors a stock all day, does some calculations, and produces a decision in one cell, "G54". Either "Buy" or "Sell" will be in cell "G54".

I am using a godaddy website template and know I can post the HTML in the page.

I have no idea how to do the batch processing or where to put that code or run it. I am so sorry.

Just curious...if I get this to work, when someone visits my website, it will give them the latest buy/sell decision? Then they will have to F5 to get an update? (which is fine)

Don't worry about being a novice, we've all got to start somewhere - I'm pretty far from being an expert myself - Always something new to learn.

So you just want to update the RSS file with one value from one cell?

Do you have an example of the RSS file you can use with your template? - If so can you attach it to a reply and indicate where the cell value should go?

If you get it working then you shouldn't need to press F5 to update.

(Also don't worry about batch processing just yet - I was probably thinking ahead a bit there, I use Excel to create sitemaps and have them automatically upload to the site once they've been produced)

Actually, if you can attach the Excel file as well - That'd be good

I guess I don't even know what an RSS Feed looks like. Would it be the entire excel page or would the RSS Feed be defined to just show the portion of the excel page I want to feed?

Sorry but we kind of need you to have the RSS file sorted before going any further

I'd suggest getting that part of it working on your website so then we can get your file sorted out the way you need it - Just mock some data up for now and then when you're ready post back with what you need and we'll go from there

If I am understanding correctly, an RSS Feed will be an entire web page on my website. I assumed it would may be just a little snippet placed on one of the pages. My thought was just have a "signal" page where I have text on the webpage describing the signal information below. The signal information below would be the RSS Feed. Should I instead get the excel page exactly how I want it to look on the webpage including all of the text description above the signal, basically covering the entire webpage?

No - RSS feeds are generally just little bits of information rather than a full web page - They allow for quick updates / notifications of new content.

It's hard to give information on them here as the Forum is protected against posting the kinds of things in them code wise.
