    Conditional Formatting: Last Entry

Wondering about how I can do this.

I want to conditionally format a cell based on the LAST term in one cell of a column and the LAST value in one cell of the same column.

For example, two colums, one of names and one of numbers:

    A B

    Fred 3
    Jim 5
    Frank 7
    Janice 12

I want to highlight here another cell in another portion of the worksheet if Column A, last entry, equals "Janice" AND Column B, last entry, equals "12". And then,
of course, as new data is entered in the columns, other cells will be highlighted based on that new data.

    Thanks!

    Alan

    Re: Conditional Formatting: Last Entry

It's not very clear what you mean. How can "another cell in another portion of the worksheet" equal both "Janice" AND "12" ?

You can think about using LOOKUP("zzz",$A:$A) to find the last value in column A (i.e. Use a formula... in the CF Rule), but I don't know what you want to compare this to. Maybe it would be:

    =cell=LOOKUP("zzz",$A:$A)

    for the text cell, and:

    =cell=LOOKUP(10E10,$B:$B)

    for the numeric cell.

    Hope this helps.
