Data validation drop down list using if statement in table?

    Hi,

So i have a table on a secondary sheet, with colums as below, but with nearly 100 rows of data. States have 5 different set values (ACT, NSW, QLD, etc), type has 4 (print, web, tv, radio). Obviously then the names and contact details are all different.
    State Type Name Contact
    ACT Print John smith 123456789
    NSW TV Jane Smith 987654321

What i would like to do is in a data validation list (drop down) on my primary sheet, is to have the data validation for that specific cell, search and show in the list only the data from a specific state and type. Say state = ACT and Type = print and then my data validation list would only display the names relevant to that criteria?

Basically i want to set up a drop down to only show me the ACT Print names. and another drop down to show me the ACT web names. etc.

Appreciated, but not quite what I'm looking for. That would require having a dropdown to select state, and then a drop down for the type and then the final dropdown with the "results" as it were.

What i want to do is have the drop down list be populated with data from a table, but only if it meets certain criteria.

Hello tbdesigns and Welcome to Excel Forum.
One way to do this might be to have the data validation draw from another column on the secondary sheet, which would populate using INDEX and AGGREGATE based on the two selections made on the primary sheet.
