All my excel files are created on the same date

I've been sorting out my old files according to when I created them, like these are the files from 2015, these are the files from 2016, etc. It went fine with the word documents but the excel files for some reason are all created on 05/06/2015 although I am pretty sure I didn't create them on that date. What is going on?? Is there some other way to find out when the files were created?

You may have copied them using a method that used the date that the copy was done rather than the actual file date. You could try going to File - Info - Properties and see what the create and modify dates are there, but you would have to do that one file at a time.
