Date format not showing correctly [SOLVED]

Hi all, I have this code I'm using on the main sheet which links to another sheet, but I can't seem to get the date function to show correctly 14-04-2020 it just gives me numbers which doesn't reflect the date. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: Date format not showing correctly

That's because you have the formatting wrong - change it from general to date on the Home ribbon.

Re: Date format not showing correctly

Actually seeing the workbook would be helpful in diagnosing it. Maybe what it is pulling over is coming over as text? Maybe it is showing up as a number like 43935 which is the numeric equivalent for 14-04-2020 which just means you have to format it as a date.

Re: Date format not showing correctly

Thanks for replying and offering support, yes it's doing exactly that with the number format; I have also tried using format date but it doesn't do anything!

Re: Date format not showing correctly

As I said in your other thread, we need to see a workbook to troubleshoot this.

adjusted what Willem gave you into your formula...
    =TEXT(INDEX(Live!A2:A20,MATCH(MAX(Live!C2:C110),Live!C2:C20,FALSE),),"dd-mm-yyyy")&" "&MAX(Live!C2:C20)

It is not the end but the begining of the formula.

Re: Date format not showing correctly [SOLVED]

Splitting it in 2 columns is much easier.

Thanks for all the help here. working great. You're probably right Popi, splitting in to two cells would be better.
