    Question Question about hyperlinks

Hey guys! Is it possible to make this?

I have a column with service tags like this:

    DKP89MN
    PQR1J4L

And I want to create hyperlinks for them but using their text like this:

    http://www.dell.com/support/home/pro...rt/servicetag/ServiceTag/maintain?show_warranty_modal=true

    I've tried this:
    =HYPERLINK("http://www.dell.com/support/home/product-support/servicetag/"&A1&"/maintain?show_warranty_modal=true")

And it created the text correctly, but if I click on it, it says that the website doesn't exist.
Is there a way to do it?

    Re: Newbie question about hyperlinks

I tried it the second way you suggested. I did something simple by putting dell in A1 and then in A2:
    =HYPERLINK("http://www."&A2&".com")

this brought me to the dell website. So my guess then is, there is something wrong with the actual website address path that you entered vs there being anything wrong with your formula.

    Re: Newbie question about hyperlinks

i am no excel formula expert but I did put your formula in cell B1 for service tag PQR1J4L ; http://www.dell.com/support/home/pro...nty_modal=true

and it seems to be doing what it suppose to do bringing up Dell support site expect for Dell coming back with this error "There is no match for that Service Tag or product ID. Please try again, auto-detect or choose from all products"

maybe others can see your issue and chime in.

    Re: Newbie question about hyperlinks

maybe i don't fully understand what you are asking for. But when you use the hyperlink formula you provided:
    =HYPERLINK("http://www.dell.com/support/home/product-support/servicetag/"&A1&"/maintain?show_warranty_modal=true")

it does bring you to the dell website. I guess i dont see where the error is because the hyperlink formula is working.
