Filtered data remaining consistent on separate tab

Hello All.

I have an issue with a sheet I am working on. I want each cell in one tab to be populated according to the data on another tab. However, when I filter the data on the Master tab, the data on the Slave tab will display what is in the master tab cell location - I want the data locked to the contents of that cell when I made the connection.

See example attached.

I want A, B, C and D on the Slave tab to correspond to Apples, Bananas, Cherries and Dates - so I have made that connection between tabs. However, if I sort the Numbers column in the Master tab to go from highest to lowest, the Slave tab will now have the incorrect fruit in column D.

I am sure there is a simple method of locking these cells to display what is required, but I can't find it!
