Getting month to date and run-rate figures

    Hi all,

I am trying to get the MTD and run-rates figures by using a normal sum function and then re-adjusting the formulas.

For MTD, i use the sum function from the 1st of the month to yesterday's date.
The run rates compare the sum of the last 7 days with the sum of the same days 4 weeks prior.

Is there an easier way how to do obtain the figures? Should I use the OFFSET function, and if so, how?

    Thanks

    Re: MTD function and run-rates

    Hi Pepe,

I am currently obtaining the month-to-date values by simply using the sum function of the cell from the first date of the month selected down to yesterday's cell values.

I am not using any inbuilt excel functions apart from SUM. As far as I know, there is MTD in-built function in Excel but I stand to be corrected.

Apologies for not being clear enough in my original post.
