When subtracting one date from another, the result is showing up as a date, not days betwe

I am trying to subtract two dates from each in a table. I am using the formula =h6-b6 or =[date resolved]-[date created] the results are showing up as dates, not the numerical amount of days in between the dates. The dates resolved are larger than the dates created, so that is not the issue. I am using the U.S system for dates, so that's also not the issue. Don't know what else it could be, please help. EX) [3/25/2021]-[3/24/2021] is spitting out 1/1/1900, when it should just say 1. What do I need to do?

Hello exceldates. Welcome to the forum. That's Excel trying to be helpful. Since you are performing operations on dates Excel assume the results should be dates as well and formats accordingly. With the "offending" cell in question active hit Ctrl + Shift + "~". That is the keyboard shortcut for General formatting. You'll get your integers.
