Creating a Dynamic Dropdown List in Excel

    Hi there,

I am trying to create a Dynamic Dropdown List in Excel. I presently have the following Formula which works.
I have my List data in a Sheet named "Fields" and I presently have 2 lists.

Please Login or Register to view this content.
I use this 2 Codes in my Name Manager when when creating Refering the list in the Data Validation.

    Status - Dropdown List 1
    In-Stock
    Deployed

    Machine_Status - Dropdown List 2
    Imaging - In Progress
    Imaging - Completed
    Wiping - In Progress
    Wiping - Completed
    Deployed - Engineer
    Deployed - User

So these are my values that are found in the Fields Sheet. Currently i have a couple of formulas that will be checking the status of this 2 Dropdown List and I find that it might be an issue with the incorrect Machine status being selected.

I was thinking of breaking down my Machine_Status values into another column, whereby my values "Deployed-Engineer", "Deployed-User" is seperated as a different.

So right now my question is as follows :

I would like to create a dynamic Dropdown List 2, whereby when i select : "In-Stock" in dropdown list 1, it should give me only values

    Imaging - In Progress
    Imaging - Completed
    Wiping - In Progress
    Wiping - Completed

    And

When i selected "Deployed" in dropdown list 1, it should give me only values

    Deployed - Engineer
    Deployed - User

Is this possible to be done without any VBA, and just purely on formula or a workaround trick?

Re: Creating a Dynamic Dropdown List in Excel

There's a recent and pretty comprehensive tutorial here: https://www.xelplus.com/excel-dynami...xclude-blanks/

    Hope it helps.
