Applying conditional format to dates based on current year and 6 month intervals

    Good afternoon all,

So I have finally relented and joined a forum as I cannot for the life of me work out how to achieve what I am after, and I just hope someone else here can help me!

So I have a sheet within my workbook that lists the serial numbers of fire extinguishers and their given location. It also shows an expiration date column.

The various fire extinguishers have expiration dates currently up until the year 2023.

We have to replace / re-validate the fire extinguishers when they come towards the end of their life....However we only have two windows to replace them, one in June and one in December.

The dates currently are in the format mm/yyyy (E.g 03/2021)

I am trying to apply a conditional format that will check the year (if current year) and within the set exchanging times. So if dates occur within the first exchange period they go red, if they fall in the second exchange period they go yellow.

At which point if possible the exchange period would need to alternate?

Please tell me if I am not making sense!
