    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards.

    Re: Column Insert

This would require a complicated bit of VBA coding to accomplish, and is more work than I am able to do at the moment. Hopefully someone else has some ideas.

The OP has multiple columns of cells that are merged vertically. The merged cells are not the same rows in the different columns. When new columns are inserted, there are no merged cells in the new columns. He wants to insert columns, and have the merged cells extend over into the new column, so that now the merged cells are merged vertically and horizontally.

We also almost universally discourage the use of merged cells, because even though they look like a single cell, Excel does not treat them that way and it causes more problems than it solves.

Here is a shot of what is in the attached files:

    Re: Column Insert

Maybe these attachments tell more simply.

My first column consists of just column A.

I want to convert my first column consists of column A and B or A and B and C or so on.

Think that there are tens of columns and hundreds of rows.

Re: Column Insert extending merged cells across horizontally

Merged cells gives always a lot of problems
Change the column width and you get the same result.
