    issue in PowerPivotTable Date Grouping Option

    Hi All,
    i am using Power Pivot Table but i am trying to group date in Qtr and Yearly & Month option but this is not active in my group option window. can anybody tell me why this is not working? file and snap is attached

    Hi AliGW,
    i using direct pivot table option then its working, but in powerpivot table option is still same problem, can you tell me any other issue, or i need to reinstall office??

    Using the information in the linked video/tutorial new columns are added to the data model

    The Year column is populated using: =YEAR(Table1[Date])
    The Month column is populated using: =MONTH(Table1[Date])
    The Quarter column is populated using: =ROUNDUP(Table1[Month]/3,0)
    The pivot tables based on the data model are shown on the PPVT sheet

    its very helpful. so nice but direct grouping is not allowed in excel 2013 without adding extra columns? i saw a video where some one is applying direct grouping on a data. i dont know which excel version he was using.

    according to this video he said office 2016 and above excel automatic convert date into Quarter and Year sale. and the powerpivot table option he applies direct grouping in the date.

    When I follow the instructions for Method Three at about 13:00 of the video I am able to make the two pivot tables (year/quarter and month) as described in the tutorial.
    I am using the 2019 version, and, as you stated, the video says that the method works for versions 2016 and later, so it may be that the add in for the 2013 version lacks that functionality. I don't have a copy of the 2013 version with which to test.
