    Many to many relatiionships

I am looking for some assistance on how to approach a problem.

Imagine a large list of say clubs, over 700 of them, in Column 1 and then in Columns B,C,D & E are listed up to 4 members.

Now in another worksheet is a list of all those members, and I want to extract which clubs those members belong to, the challenge is that the member does belong to multiple clubs and will appear potentially multiple times in columns B,C,D and E of the first worksheet. So a member could belong to say 8 or more clubs.

So how do I extract from my data a list of the clubs any one member belongs to?

Apologies if I am missing something, but I cannot yet solve this with VLookup, Index and Match or a pivot table.

    Is it linked pivot tables?

    Thank you for your help

re: Find Clubs Members Belong To

you have to unpivot your table. this can be done best with Power Query (or VBA)
    see attached workbook

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.
