Create a list of properties from selected columns

Hello,

I have a table with different items on each row, with each column a different property that the item could potentially have. If the item has said property, I mark that cell with an X. Here's a simplified version of what I have:

	Property 1	Property 2	Property 3	Property 4
Item 1	x		x
Item 2	x	x	x	x
Item 3	x
Item 4
Item 5			x	x

I'd like to be able to easily see which properties any given item has and ignore the ones it doesn't. Is this possible in Excel? I tried looking into pivot tables but I'm new to them and haven't figured them out yet. Thanks in advance!!

you expect something like a table. how should the result look like in EXCEL? can you add your expected result in your sample file?

Is there any reason to not use filtering? you can change your table as:
Item1 Item2 Item3
Property1 x
Property2 x x
Property3 x
Property4 x x

And add filter to Items.
