Conditional format - duplicate

Gurus,

I am looking to conditional format all duplicates in a column EXCEPT the last one. So if Cell A1,A2 and A5 have the same value, I want to highlight Cells A1 and A2 only. Is there a formula that can be entered in conditional formatting to do this?

You could make a conditional expression like

in the range : =$A$1:$A$4

So A5 is excluded.
