Post Joining/ Fusing two columns and its contents

    Hello all!
My problem is that I have two columns with lots of data in them, say column A and column B. In some cases the data in column A&B are the same, in other cases, one column has data while the other does not. I would like to join the two into one column.

(I would use the "&" function but that wouldn't work where the data is duplicated.)

Thanks in advance for any help

You can test if they match and join as needed, e.g.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

There are other ways to combine cells using CONCAT, TEXTJOIN, etc.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Try this:

    =IF(AND(A1=B1,A1<>""),A1,A1&B1)
