Pivot Table Subtotals - would like variance for the above 2 rows

Hello have a pivot table that looks like the following
Jan feb march etc.. Total
2018-19 10 5 6 (these rows are counting data in database)
2019-20 5 10 """""""""
Variance -5 5 -6

When I go for format subtotal and select variance it gives me the DIV/?? error.

Is this possible in pivot table in excel

I don't believe that the pivot table subtotal will show what you want, however you could add a calculated item that would (see Solve Order sheet).
The formula for the calculated item, Variance, is: ='2019-20'-'2018-19'

I went back to the report, the variance works perfect however,
it gives me the variance of all the groups in every specialty
and not just in the specialty it is supposed to be in.

Selecting the filter/sort button for Group and applying a Value Filter of Greater than 0 the unwanted groups are removed from the pivot table.
