How to lock editing whole workbook

Hi,

I am working on a excel document for work and have to save a file every month for review.

I am looking to lock the whole workbook so that people cannot edit numbers, formulas or any structures of the sheets. I know I can go to 'File' then 'Info' so protect my current sheet but the report has more than 20 tabs so would be useful to be able to lock them all at once.

Is this possible?

You can configure the file so that it only opens in read-only mode unless they know the password to modify.

File > SaveAs > next to the Save button click 'Tools' then 'General Options' > type in a 'Password to modify'.

Save the file, then close and re-open it and you'll be prompted for the password or open in read-only mode.

Alternatively you can use a macro to protect all worksheets at once.

Its nothing too sensitive so not worried about someone cracking the password but good to know for the future!
