Spreadsheet zooms all the way out whenever I press control

Subject line says it all--bizarrely, every time I press the control button (without touching the trackpad or mouse), my spreadsheet zooms all the way out to as far away as the program permits. Anyone have any idea what's going on / how to fix it?

Hi SJD and welcome to the forum,

Do you have any macros in the spreadsheet you do this on? Does this do the same on all workbooks/files? Does your keyboard allow macros? What version of Windows / Mac OS are you using? Does this do the same with a Word document? If the file has macros what are they?
