    Problem with Relationships

    Hello Everyone

    I'm using Excel 2016
I have an issue creating a simple pivot table from 2 tables
I have two tables (Parents, Children) , with one to many relationship between the tables (One parent can have multiple children).
The output pivot table gives for each parent all the children in the children table as in the pictures.
Attached is the sample excel file .
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong here
    Please help.

    Thanks

    Re: Problem with Relationships

Why not simply add the Parent Name as a 4th column in the Kid Table and use a VLOOKUP in the 4th column to lookup the parent ID in the Parent table?

    Re: Problem with Relationships

This is just a simplified example , it would be real hard to do with all the tables I have.
So I really need to do it with relations between tables

    Re: Problem with Relationships

As soon as you add a value field from Table2 the problem will disappear.

Thank you rorya, that has solved, I can hide the values extra column if I don't need it.
