Search String in Column Return String

Hello all,

I am trying to search through column a for two unique strings of text and then return either "ALPHA" or N/A in column b but cannot figure this out. I thought that =if(vlookup({"julio", "charles"}, A:A, 1, false) would work but it does not. I am not even sure if I should use vlookup for this?

Sorry, but it's not clear to me what you expect. Can you expand a little on your explanation?
It may also help us if you would attach your actual workbook. Instructions for how to do this are in yellow at the top of this thread.
