Using Accounting formatting gives different results on two computers

    Hi

I tried to post this question in the MS Excel forum days ago, some views, but no answers. Now I'm hoping for better luck here (or that smarter people are here) :-).

I have two computers, both running Win10 and the same version of Office. On one computer the format 'Accounting' on a cell is correct (the one circled in red), on the other it's wrong. It used to work fine in old versions of Office, but then a few years back something happened and now I'm really confused. Could it be a Windows setting rather than something in Office?

Another curious thing, if I choose $ instead of Danish kroner for formatting, it moves the symbol to the front as in the red circled picture???

    Hi,

If you click on the down arrow next to the accounting symbol, then click More Accounting Formats, look at the Decimal places and Symbol options. Are both set the same? It sounds like your default setting in there was changed somehow.

    Hi

Thanks for answering. Yes, I have tried this, nothing is different. I have even found a "kr." (which the computer chooses by default as I'm in Denmark) and I have found one called "kr. Danish", but they both act in the same way?

    Hi Joseph

I actually looked for that in Excel, but couldn't find it, so I grapped it from Outlook, is my Excel 'disconnected' from the rest of Office?

By right, should not. Check the Currency Setting. Go to Control Panel > Date and Time > Change date and time > Change calendar settings > Additional settings > Currency.

It works, you are a genius :-). I had a feeling that it might have come from Windows. Thanks a lot :-).
