Here's a solution that works for the two columns in your example, but you say "multiple columns" so I'm not sure this is good enough for you. The formula will need to to be modified for more than 2 columns and will rapidly get messy.
In F3 copied down:

Alternative :
If the columns to be merged are not seperated with empty columns, below formula will merge all columns (row wise) into a single column as shown in the picture;

And, this one will merge the Column A and Column B into Column D vertically as seen in the picture.
