Reduce File Size - Delete unused rows

Hi,

I have noticed that my excel sheet goes down to row 1,000,000+ but I only have data up to line 3000.

Obviously this is making the file unnecessary large and it crashes. I want to remove the rows below and followed sets online which said to clear and delete the rows but for some reason when I check the sheet by using the 'Shift', 'Ctrl', 'End' the size of the sheet hasn't changed.

Am I missing a set or is there another way to get rid of the unused rows?

When you have selected the entire rows, use the Delete icon on the ribbon.

You also need to save the file in order for the used range to change.

I tried using the delete on the ribbon and then saved but it still is the same size. Is there any other reason why I wouldn't be able to delete these rows?
