How to Change Cell Colors While Maintaining Cell borders ?

The method involving selecting all the cells and using the pain bucket to fill a color removes the black cell borders.

    Using office 365

Re: How to Change Cell Colors While Maintaining Cell borders ?

If I understand you then I think this is by design.

What you see by default on a new worksheet are grid lines, not borders. By default, there are no borders set You can verify this on a new worksheet by File > Options > Advanced > Display options for this worksheet > Show grid lines and unchecking this option. You will now see no borders and no grid lines between cells.

Grid lines are obscured by adding fill to cells. Borders are not.

Hopefully I have understood your problem correctly and that this explanation helps.

Yes you got it and I was wondering if there is a way to change the color and keep the grid lines.

Re: How to Change Cell Colors While Maintaining Cell borders ?

While you have the cells selected, you could use the Borders button (to the left of the Fill button) to add whatever borders you want. Grid lines are really colorless, so you cant actually change the color of some of them.
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

It is actually possible to set grid line color if you wish:

File > Options > Advanced > Display options for this worksheet

In case my comment was mis-read, I said you cannot change the color of just some of the grid lines
