Ctrl + end on my excel sheet takes me to row 1048576 but last data is in row 5139

    Hi,

I have an excel file that is currently 27,421KB.
It was previously 33,000KB but I have taken out 15 tabs sheets and packaged this up as a separate file.

I still think I can bring it down further by clearing it up and one thing I am doing is stepping through each tab sheet and pressing ctrl + end.
And I noticed that a lot of them are taking me way far too down than where my last data actually is.

I am trying to clear these blank excess rows by deleting them but I get a warning message saying this operation affects a large number of cells > I click ok and then I get an Excel error message Excel ran out of resources.

I do not have any other applications running when I am doing this.

Is there anyone out there that has dealt with this kind of issue successfully?

    Thank You

    Try he following:
Create a new book with the same number of sheets and sheet names from your "problem" book.
    In your "problem" book
    1. select sheet1
    2. select only cells that contain data
    3. copy
    4. Select sheet1 of the new workbook
    5. paste the data
Repeat the steps for each of the sheets.

    .
Have you created a cell border that extends to every cell in a Column ? Down to row 1048576 ? That will cause the issue.

The same will occur if you have colored the cell interior / background for every cell in a column.
