conditional if statement

Hello

IDK if this can be done but I'm looking to have a cell that has 3 conditional formatting settings
1) If cell one is blank and cell 2 is FALSE (checkbox) then color of cell is white.
2) If cell one is >1 and cell 2 is FALSE (checkbox) then color of cell 1 is red.
3) If cell one is >1 and cell 2 is TRUE (checkbox) then color of cell 1 is green.

Thanks in advanced
MCB

Re: conditional if statement

more than likely, the conditional formatting feature in the interface can do what you want.

Perhaps you could explain to the OP how to do that, in case they dont know?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

well I apologize for that Dibbins. But I like to help folks out by giving them the first steps with regard to semi-simple solutions, for the purpose of them figuring it out and feeling good about themselves so they can do it next time and learn as they go. But, as you say, which might be a good idea....

Warrior,

the attached images should represent what you would do in order to accomplish your goal. Do these help?

1) all rules applied to one cell
2) how you write a double condition for one cell
3) how you link a checkbox to a cell
4) result of doing this same work on 3 different cells

While I fully endorse the "give a fish - teach how to fish" philosophy, the majority of members are new/have low excel formula/vba skills. As such, it is perhaps better to err on the side of caution and, until they say otherwise, accept that a low skill set exists.

Thanks for the very nice explanation

thanks for the guidance Dibbins. I will change accordingly. But it doesn't change the fact that there really is no way to know who is experienced and who isn't, other than reading their messages. I will do my best though.

I totally agree that at 1st glance, you could either talking to a world grand master, or someone who is still looking for the "any Key to continue" key, so dumb it down until they prove they have a higher skill set

hey no problem! but I would be careful if I were you, about saying dumb it down. I don't think the person who asked the question in this thread would like that too much.
