Difficult to say without seeing the workbook and understanding which cells you are changing. Is it a shared workbook by any chance and someone else is copying stuff. Are any macros involved

Any chance you could upload the workbook.

It does not matter what cells I select. In this case, I am trying to select D4-D69. As soon as I let go of my mouse button it changes all the cells to whatever was in the first cell.As far as I know there is no macros . I am super new. There is no one working in the same workbook. Just me. I wish there was a way for me to post a video. I dont think showing just the workbook will show you what is happening.

It sounds like you are not selecting cells but *drag filling* cells.

You select a range/group of cells by
    1. Holding down the Ctrl key and clicking the desired cells. Or
    2. Clicking inside the first cell and dragging the white cross over the desired adjacent cells.

You drag fill a group of cells by selecting the first cell and placing the cursor on the fill square at the lower right corner. Notice that the cursor changes to a black + you right click and drag in the desired direction to fill...
