    Delete Columns; File Size Grows?

I'm working to get a file size down, yet getting what I think is strange behavior.

I have data spanning 50+ columns and over 5,000 rows. The file size is currently ~ 8.2MB.

And in experimenting, when I delete about 7 of those columns (all with data in those 5000 rows) and resaving the file, the file actually grows in size to ~8.7MB. Why would it grow 500k when I'm actually deleting data?

Do you have Conditional Formatting? If you do, check the rules and the ranges they apply to. You might find there are dozens of identical rules applied to subsets of the original range.
