Conditional Formatting based on text in another cell

    All,

How would you tell Excel to format a specific row based off the data of another cell that is not equal to anything and not within the boundaries of the data you want formatted?

Attached I have a spreadsheet I posted a few days ago asking for Conditional Formatting but we couldn't get it to work because of merged cells. So I thought, if I have another column to the right (so I can hide that column), but have a formula that shows "if this other cell shows "true" or "false", then format the cells based on if that corresponding cell says "true"."

As you change the data using the dropdowns up top, the True/False updates, which should then highlight that corresponding row.

I tried =$Q12="TRUE", but that hasn't worked in any variation I could think up / find on the internet.

Please see attached spreadsheet and thanks in advance for any help!!

When entering your conditions do not add double quotes to TRUE like =$Q12=TRUE

I often wonder why one says " I know it was simple" when one has no idea of the answer ?
