What color scheme is easiest/best on the eyes?

I am trying to decide which color works best to designate where a dropdown menu exists. Thanks for your help.

    Personally, I’d go with yellow ( 4 ).

I am really shocked by the number going for yellow, which in my view is the LEAST easy on the eyes!!!

Well ... considering the majority of coders work in dark, damp basements with a single fluorescent light streaming over their keyboard .. while chain smoking and
consuming copious amounts of highly caffeinated Andes Coffee .... the yellow color brings a momentary glint of the real, outside world they miss.

Re: What color scheme is easiest/best on the eyes?

My rational for yellow is that a) it stands out, b) black text on yellow is easy to read, and, c) well, I quite like yellow. I'd probably go with orange ( 6 ) as runner up. IMO, all the others are dark, drab and don't contrast well.

I went with the light Blue. Works for me. However, I would prefer a darker print on that background.

So, did the vote help? What colour did you choose in the end?
