    Can Excel produce an embedded representation of data from an imported XSD/XML?

    Can Excel produce an embedded representation of data in a table from an imported XSD/XML? - Or maybe a better way?

    My Problem:
    When I import an XML of data into Excel based upon the XSD Schema I have also loaded, the data is interpreted and repeated in such a way by Excel, that when attempting to map the this data, it can't be clearly understood by the program mapping it. What results is multiple duplicates in Excel which in turn produces duplicates in the mapping unless I delete the duplicates out of Excel.

    There may not be a way for Excel to represent the embedding nature of the XSD, but I thought it worth asking here. Or someone may be able to explain to me how to interpret the formatting in Excel in such a way to understand it better.

    I'm open to any thoughts or suggestions.

    Thanks!

    @ez08mbba;

    You just need to create a layout on the sheet, meaning; which cell will house which value on the XML and then you will need to "map" the cells with the related XML nodes.

    Attach the files in a ZIP folder here, if you can't do this...

    Haluk,

    Thanks for your reply to my thread. I do know how to import and XSD and drag and drop from the XSD to create the table for imported XML data. However, I think my problem is the complexity of the XSD and XML, and according to MS OFFICE support, because of the the complexity, it most likely will not work. And if I try to export the data back out, EXCEL prompts saying that it cannot. But I would be interested in your idea. I just really can't pass the data here even though I've filtered it of PI and other information.
