Any idea how I could do it?

As can be seen in my example, if the value in C4 is less than 7 the row headers, some automatic values and Entry 1-11 labels appear or disappear.
This has all been done with the 'IF' formula. I believe Conditional Formatting can accept formulas as triggers so trying to toggle row cells not
to have borders and text colour to be white so making manually input text 'invisible'

Your explanation is vague at best, and your formula is over-complicated...
If(F26>=1,FORMAT,DEFAULT)
although I have no idea what you are trying to infer with the 2 last arguments?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Hi - sorry, trying to understand what you want to do. You want to use Conditional Format instead of just an If statement in F4 - F10?

Re: New to Conditional Format: need to change font colour and border on a range of cells f

Hi,

I'll explain. To make this worksheet clearer I want an example of conditional formatting working from a formula. I don't mind doing it in an 'IF' statement if it works. What I am trying to do is change the formatting in certain cells based on the value entered into C4 which affects the Entry Creation area. As I have made column titles and row titles and automatic values appear and disappear but as an IF statement, as far as I know, does not make a cell have borders or text within it to have a different font colour. That is my aim.

Sorry had a lot going on yesterday. So correct me if I'm wrong, so you want the entries in the Entry Creation section to be formatted (highlighted, border, etc) if there is something in those cells based on the number of entries in C4?

Actually I enter the number of entries in C4 and if it's less than I had previously then I need those extra entries to not appear i.e. no borders and font colour white.

Re: New to Conditional Format: need to change font colour and border on a range of cells f

I had trouble with the formatting on your sheet so I created Sheet 2. I made some formulas easier (not sure if you made it that way on purpose or not).

I just used Conditional Formatting in the whole Entry Creation section so if there were no blanks, then put border around it. I could not get rid of entries in Columns G - K because of your text in those cells. No matter what I tried, your original text remained in those cells. So please see Sheet 2 and look in formula in G18 and see if that will do what you want. So if you change C4 to 1 then G18 will go blank. I just used an If statement to look at Entries in Column C (C17, Entry 2) and if that was not blank put your text in it, otherwise make it blank. You can do it for the rest of entries if you want.

Not sure if that's what you want or if you will be changing those entries in G - K, but that's all I could think of to get it how you want.

Let me know if you have any questions.
