How to get independent groups of option buttons?

I have three groups of option buttons. I inserted the buttons, then grouped them. Problem is that all of the buttons are linked and are exclusive. What I want is for each group to be exclusive. I.E., I can click one option in each group. How do I separate the groups?

ALSO, one of the option buttons I inserted, I can no longer select and therefore cannot reformat or delete it. How to fix that?
