Can you lock the data validation so people can't override it?
Hi, I'm using a spreadsheet at work which other people complete but one of the cells I have put in data validation that highlights any values below 150,000 so if you enter 49,000 you get an error message saying its too low.
However, one of my colleagues changed the data validation parameters to allow the sheet to accept the lower value. Is it possible to lock the data validation so people can't fiddle with it?

You can protect the workbook with a password, which would slow down the determined hacker!

Would that not mean they can't enter any data at all? I just want to stop people fiddling with the data validation they still need to be able to enter a correct value.Originally Posted by AliGW
No - you need to set the cells they need to enter data into as UNLOCKED in cell properties before protecting the sheet.
