Anyone know why I keep getting "extract" when trying a lookup formula?

Just started happening on a certain data set. I'm trying to do a lookup formula (V and Xlookup have been tried) and everytime I click on the lookup value, the formula defaults to the word "extract" instead of showing the cell I click on in the formula (ie "extract" is shown instead of C7 in the lookup value) Nothing changes it and it appears to make the lookup value an absolute reference, thus keeping me from running the lookup on the entire column.

I turned all lookup/return values to values only and it still does it.
