no leading zero's shown when i click in cell

    Hi,

When i enter a number and add zero's (formatting cell properties > number > custom > type: 000000000, the extra zero's are not counted in the lentgh function. When i click on the cell with value 00000123 is see only 123 in the top bar. How can i adjust the cells to have the zero also displayed?

Can you use a reference cell? So if 123 is in A2, in B2 put =text(a2,"00000000")

Thanks. Do you know how to do this with a function in vba? I tried this, but the function is not correct.

No I don't write VBA. This isn't the VBA section of the forum.
If you want it done in VBA maybe PM a moderator to request they move the post to the VBA section.
Or maybe change the title to something like need VBA for leading zeros in cells?
