    Question Mean Time to Resolution

    I am reporting on my team's incidents and I need to report on the average time it takes to resolve incidents within a 7-day range. I have attached sample data. Do not pay attention if the dates under the Opened column are older than 7 days--I have been meaning to upload this question for a while now.

    One way:

    =SUMPRODUCT(($A$2:$A$30>=$G$2)*($A$2:$A$30<=$G$2+7)*($C$2:$C$30-$A$2:$A$30))/COUNTIFS(A:A,">="&$G$2,A:A,"<="&$G$2+7)

    see file.

    Re: Mean Time to Resolution

    Thank you Glenn. I see that you based the data off the earliest date--in this case 2/10/2021, so following your example, each time I wanted to run a 7-day report, I would need to look for the earliest date,
    and start the formulations from there? I was hoping there was an easier way to show the length of time each incident was opened (ie. each row), then take those numbers and use a formula for calculating the mean
    time to resolution from that.

    Re: Mean Time to Resolution

    No. I just picked a date, entirely at random, and picked it up from G2. If you put whatever date you want in G2, it will recalculate correctly.

    If YOU define EXACTLY what you want it to do, I can make it do that. But your requirement was vague in that regard. The best thing would be if you posted a sheet showing WHAT you expect to see, WHERE you expect to see it.
