Conditional Formatting: Cells That Contain - Dates Occurring - This Month

I have a conditional formatting rule that highlights the cell green if a date for the current month is entered, but every month the previous month's cell becomes un-highlighted. All the other previous months stay highlighted, it's just the prior month that becomes un-highlighted. Is there an easy fix for this?

What is the conditional formatting rule you are using? A correct rule that highlights date in the current month will not cause previous months to stay highlighted, so you have something more than what you've described.

If you want all dates for the current month and any prior months to be highlighted then the rule should look like this

    Formula: copy to clipboard

I'm a little familiar with coding, but I don't understand what the A1 cell does in this formula. When I put it into a blank sheet it just highlights everything except the first row and first column of the selection. I attached an image so you can maybe better understand what I'm going for.

A1 is the cell you want to format. You need to change the formula to suit what you are actually doing.

I still haven't seen your current conditional formatting rule. The best thing would be to attach an actual file rather than a picture. See yellow banner at the top of the page.

If by current month you mean dates in the same month as the date returned by TODAY(), you could use formula conditions like, for cell X99, =TEXT(X99,"yyyy-mm")=TEXT(TODAY(),"yyyy-mm").
