    Assign value to various rankings in a list?

    I have a list of over 350 numbers in a range. I would like to take the top 50 highest numbers and assign them the value "7", then the next 50 "6", and so on down to the lowest 50 being assigned "1".

    These values do change on a quarterly basis. The overall spreadsheet is sorted in various other ways as well, so I can't rely solely on the rankings.

    I feel like this is doable but I'm simply not figuring out a way to make this happen. Thanks for any help or advice.

    You could use a lookup table.

    There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

    Thank you for the quick response. I've attached a toned down / anonymized version of it.

    I need it to be able to rank them and assign the value accordingly (see the note in the attached spreadsheet as well).

    I can see how to get started with a lookup table, but not sure how to get it to rank them.

    Try pasting the following into cell B2 and then double clicking the fill handle to copy the formula down:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
