Power Query for Mac (MS Office 2019)

    Hello,

It is my impression that Power Query Editor is not yet available for Mac. I have two basic questions:
    1. Does anyone know when it will become available?
    2. It seems a limited functionality exists that allows one to import data from local files via Power Query. How do I go about getting this functionality?
    3. In the absence of Power Query, how can I unpivot my data?

    Thank you!

Mac Excel can refresh Power Queries, and you could create or modify Power Queries in VBA in Mac Excel, though the Mac version of the VBA IDE is its own form of self-punishment.

    To answer your questions.

    1. When MSFT feels like it. Don't hold your breath.

    2. See my 1st paragraph. In theory, you could create Power Queries in VBA.

    3. You have data in pivot tables but not the data upon which those pivot tables are based?

Any recommendations for the best source to learn VBA (Youtube or otherwise)?

    Thanks Alan.

I am contemplating investing in a Dell home office computer. I currently have a subscription for MS Office 2019 Home and Business, which is compatible with Windows 10. If I were to download said Office on a cpu with Windows is the idea that Power Pivot will become available as an add-in?

Of course I am not solely making such a capital expenditure solely for Power Pivot, but it's moreso because I find coding on a mac laptop is atrocious.
