Hi All,

I hope everyone is well. I have a problem I have been sweeping under the carpet for a few months now and thought I should finally get some advice on the best way to approach it.

We have a server running Win Server 2016 with plenty of unused CALS. This hosts an excel workbook that tracks inspection dates (lets call it "Inspection Tracker"), this workbook is routinely accessed by a number of client machines on our LAN, but not for simultaneous working. We have several Samsung Galaxy Tablets running Android 10 (Kernel version 4.4.177-20709318) that we need to be able to access the Inspection Tracker to update the workbook. In an ideal world I'd like the tablets to be able to access the workbook over WAN so the workbook can be updated "on site" when away from our premises and LAN.

So far I have had a little play with Remote Desktop apps that allow the tablets to remote in to the server, but this is definitely not the way forward as I don't want the guys with the tablets clicking around on the servers desktop!!!

I have read about publishing the workbook through Excel online to onedrive etc, but is this the best way?

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks in advance
