    Calculate number of people in phase

    Hi there,

    I am trying to find an easier method to do a task using excel. The task is this:
    I have a series of clients who arrive on arbitrary dates, the day they arrive they enter phase 1 of 6. Every calendar month they move to the next phase, and I need to count how many are in each phase, and total it up at the bottom.

    Thank you all. :-) Hopefully I explained what I am looking to do in a simple manner.

    I should add that I cannot sort by date first, the dates must stay exactly where they are.

    In C29 and drag across;

    =SUMPRODUCT(1*(C3:C27<=TODAY()),1*(D3:D27>TODAY()))
